Couples Therapy

Couples usually come to therapy because they've reached some kind of impasse: lack of intimacy, resentment, lack of communication, frequent fighting.  The more you try to work things through, the more stuck you feel.  Whether you need a relationship “Reality Check” or you're on the brink of separation, couples therapy is a smart investment in your relationship and an opportunity to restore the best aspects of your partnership.

Relationships are hard work whether you’re young, old, married, poly, queer or straight! Creating deep and lasting intimacy is challenging - but also immensely rewarding.  I believe that our past experiences (childhood) plant us into relationships in which we struggle with familiar, frustrating and painful patterns.  Part of creating a successful partnership with another human being is examining and working through these patterns in an atmosphere of safety, love and support from your partner.

Reality Check: The truth of the matter is that sometimes relationships just don’t work out despite our best efforts.  One of the more unconventional aspects to couples therapy is having a safe, mutually beneficial neutral space to navigate the complexities of a relationship ending.  Be is a split, divorce, or temporary separation, having a space and environment that offers a supportive and nonjudgmental atmosphere to work out all the details is immensely beneficial to all parties involved.
